Electric Vehicle (EV) Cost of Ownership

EVs are an investment that pays off in the long run. Their lower monthly expenses and cheaper gasoline prices make them more cost-effective. Even more than traditional cars or trucks. They also provide a yearly return on your investment with their cleaner air!

Let's look at all these factors. Consumer Reports found that electric vehicles come out ahead. They may actually save money faster than regular cars if taken onto public roads!

Fuel Savings

The pay off for investing in an electric vehicle is almost always worth it. With cheaper fuel costs and lower monthly payments, you can save money by going green!

Maintenance and Repair

Over an electric vehicle's lifetime, the average savings are estimated at $4,600. It's no wonder more and more people are switching to this form of transportation. Not only do they cost less in repairs but also on your monthly expenses like fuel costs!

Depreciation

Highway hyped-up gas guzzlers may be a thing of the past. It's thanks to new electric vehicles with longer ranges. Most models now can travel more than 200 miles on one charge. Some will go up twice that distance before needing recharging! The type also impacts its depreciation rate. Class D cars (which use solar power) tend not only see lower rates but higher values too. It's due in part to how few there are in circulation. It's also compared to other classes such as Classes A & B. These classes includes hybrid options.

The report found these findings. Newer long range EVs are holding their value. Some better than traditional gasoline powered vehicles.
