What's New For the 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio?
Introduced in 2018, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio was seen as a rather daring step by auto critics, breaking from the norm by focusing on performance and driving experience instead of comfort and amenities.
The Stelvio received a facelift and more last year. The rear-wheel drive version became available on the base trim, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto became standard inclusions across the trim lineup. This year, a few interior design tweaks and a modest shuffling of standard convenience features will set the model apart from last year's offering.
2020 Stelvio Trims & Features
The mid-size, two-row 2020 Stelvio is available in three trims. The entry-level, known simply as the Base, comes with xenon headlights, roof rails, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and ambient interior lighting. The front seats are power-adjustable, and there's a system for adjusting the drive settings. A 6.5-inch screen display, smartphone app integration, four USB ports, and an eight-speaker stereo are also standard.
The uplevel Ti trim comes with a larger screen display, satellite radio, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Both the Base and Ti can be purchased with the Sport package that adds on paddle shifters and some interior trim upgrades. This package also adds on sport front seats on the Ti version. The luxury-oriented Quadrifoglio model gets this package as standard equipment and also comes with a Harman Kardon sound system.

2020 Alfa Romeo Horsepower
The Base and Ti models are fitted with a turbocharged 2.0L inline four-cylinder engine that produces a total of 280 horsepower. Both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive are available. The engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Quadrifoglio model is powered by a Ferrari-derived twin-turbo engine, a 2.9L V6 that pumps out an impressive 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Its suspension is also different, a much stiffer system that helps out with handling and cornering at high speeds.
The performance level is high, something to be expected with any Alfa Romeo model. The 2020 Stelvio, when equipped with the four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive, accelerates from a full stop to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds. The Brembo brakes are a nice inclusion, and the model has a braking distance from 60 mph of just 117 feet, very impressive for this vehicle class.
Alfa Romeo Safety
All 2020 Stelvio models come with a full set of airbags, stability and traction control, a rearview camera, and daytime running lights. Emergency brake assist is also standard. If the Ti version is chosen, the buyer can add on the Driver Assist Dynamic Plus package that includes automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. This package is standard on the Quadrifoglio model.
