Performance

Performance characteristics vary between the base model and the Tributo Italiano Special Edition. You can choose to get either a gasoline-powered base trim or a PHEV base model. The gasoline-powered base trim uses a turbo 2.0L four-cylinder engine that cranks out up to 268 horsepower and gets 295 pound-feet of torque. The base model with a PHEV system uses a 1.3L engine with a battery pack. Combined, they produce 285 horsepower and 347 pound-feet of torque. The base PHEV gets about 33 miles of all-electric range.

The Tributo Italiano is only available as a PHEV, and its performance characteristics are the same as the base PHEV. Both PHEV models have front-wheel drive and an automatic transmission.

Appearance

The Alfa Romeo Tonale base model has 18-inch wheels and LED exterior lights. The base trim is equipped with rain-sensing windshield wipers and standard fog lights for added visibility. The base Tonale has heated power-folding side mirrors and the distinctive Alfa Romeo logo on the front grille.

The Tributo Italiano has some distinctive aesthetic features, including larger 20-inch wheels and a custom front grille design. A power-operated liftgate comes with the special edition trim, which also gets red brake calipers.

Either trim can be equipped with 19-inch wheels or 20-inch wheels, and you can get chrome and aluminum trim accents for the exterior of either trim level to give your Tonale a more personalized appearance.

Features

The base Tonale model has many amenities, including heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, satellite radio, a keyless entry system, remote start, and dual-zone climate control. This trim has a 10.25-inch infotainment display screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The PHEV version includes a Level 2 charger system.

The Tributo Italiano adds ambient interior lighting, paddle shifters, leather seats with red stitching accents, and memory settings for the driver's seat. This trim upgrades to a Harman Kardon sound system.
